Stories about perfume, preservation, beauty and the art of the dome.
We cannot see a fragrance, yet we feel its weight, its memory, and its power. As a mixed-media artist, I specialise in the art of translation — giving physical form to the invisible stories that scents tell.
Through a blend of sculpture, painting, and intricate hand-crafting, I recreate the feelings that fragrance stirs within us. My visual dome displays serve as tiny, glass-bound worlds where memories and emotions take shape. I believe that while scent is fleeting, the story it tells is permanent. I'm here to capture that story for you.
Manuela Gisca is a London-based technical artist and olfactory curator who specialises in the intersection of fine art and sensory experience. With an extensive background in sculpture, painting, and high-level technical arts, she has dedicated her career to "translating the invisible" — giving a physical, visual form to the fleeting essence of fragrance.
Manuela holds a BA in Technical Arts for Theatre and Performance from the University of the Arts London, as well as both a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Technical Arts from the National University of Arts in Bucharest. Her academic foundation spans over a decade of professional practice.
Manuela's technical prowess is currently utilised at the world-renowned Madame Tussauds London. Her diverse career has also seen her leading creative direction for high-fashion editorials and working as a specialist in SFX and character design for London Fashion Week and the BAFTAs.
As the creator behind Venus Avenue, Manuela operates as a niche perfumery nose and collector, blending her love for fragrance with her skills in prop making and set arrangement. She believes that while we cannot see fragrance, we feel it deeply — a powerful stimulant that triggers memory, taste, and personal history.
"Her signature visual dome displays act as microcosms for these invisible stories — turning a momentary aroma into a lasting, tactile experience."
